You’re going to want to stop listening to this as soon as you hear Jesse’s Mitch Hedberg-like delivery. He’s just nervous; he gets more natural. And this talk is on a steep upward slope of goodness; the best moments are the last 10 seconds, but it just gets better and better until then.
For a guy like me—a compulsive recorder and note-taker, a person who keeps journals and logs of all sorts of things, with little clear idea of why—this is a powerful and optimistic and scary/exciting message.

Why are there photos with that long-ass thing I wrote for The Awl about my bed bugs?
Because originally it was going to JUST be photos.
I actually didn’t understand until almost the entire way through aforementioned long-ass thing that the photos were of the author. I thought there was basically no chance of that, actually. I’m delighted to be wrong.
