I, Too, Am Sorry In Advance

baileygenine:

All of you with your degrees, your great jobs, nice homes, just being put together and only a few years older than me.  It is probably one of my biggest causes of anxiety, and I’ve even told you before, most of you give me a complex.

I may be wandering far afield of the etiquette here, because I basically feel like a stranger eavesdropping on a (now quite old) conversation and then cutting in with a long personal anecdote, but:

This post is funny. It’s funny because: I spend most of my time having a complex about never having traveled around having exactly the life baileygenine describes in the rest of her very well-written musings. In other words, feeling like I sacrificed too much on the altar of “degrees … great jobs … [and] being put together.” (The rest of my time is spent having a complex that—despite having a collection of degrees and jobs—I’m not put together at all.)
